GOLD CANYON ARTS FESTIVAL

January 25, 2020

The Gold Canyon Arts Festival is a much-anticipated community celebration produced each year by the all-volunteer Gold Canyon Arts Council.  It is a one-day event featuring a juried art show, musical groups performing throughout the day and a variety of food vendors.  Last year, over five thousand people attended to peruse the art work of 85 artists and to listen to five musical groups. Many participating artists say this is the best one day art show held in the state.

The Festival will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, on the grounds of the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church at 6640 S. King’s Ranch Rd. in Gold Canyon (see map below).  The Festival opens at 9:00 AM and runs to 4:00 PM.  Admission and parking are free.

MARIACHI PHOENIX is an all-male band composed of talented musicians. They will surely delight the audience with their musical favorites of Mexico. You will be charmed with their exhilarating sound and memorable performance of one of the most unique and beautiful genres found anywhere in the world.

PIONEER PEPPER AND THE SUNSET PIONEERS have been featured performers in past Gold Canyon Arts Festivals and have travelled to Austria, England, Canada, and across the United States. They performed for the “Little House On The Prairie” TV show reunion at the Western Film Festival, filmed with the BBC-TV for the TV series “Only In America” and with the Midwest Country TV Show on RFD-TV Network. They are the official town balladeers of Gilbert, Arizona.

THE HOUSERS - This father/daughter duo presents a program of Western, Bluegrass, Country and Gospel music.  Well-known local entertainers Ron Houser and Tara Houser- Jones will combine their beautiful voices and their expertise playing the guitar and fiddle to produce sounds sure to delight our festival goers.

DAVE KARL - Dave learned the guitar and took an interest in singing at the age of eight, impersonating the styles of Elvis, the Beatles, along with other rock-n-roll artists. When he turned 18 years of age, he turned to Country Music, impersonating stars like, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, and Kenny Rogers. He has been in the opening acts for Marie Osmond, Lee Greenwood, Ronnie Milsap, and many others. He was cast by "Movie Works," a motion picture company, to play the part of Kenny Rogers in a not yet released movie "Queens of Country".
